Unicorn & The Vine Booking Terms & Conditions

All bookings of all our events and courses are processed on the understanding and basis that you
have read and agreed to our terms and conditions.

WSET Public Wine Courses - Classroom and Online

Delegates must be over 18 years in age
Provisional bookings are not accepted and places will only be confirmed once payment is received
Course / event bookings are not complete until the course registration booking form has been completed andsent back to Unicorn & The Vine by the student
Course bookings may be made on this website with payment by credit / debit card or by invoice
Invoices are due for immediate payment
No materials will be dispatched until course fees are paid
Course fees will be refunded in full if Unicorn & The Vine changes a course date or cancels a
course if enrolments do not reach the required minimum numbers – notification will be made in
the 5 working days prior to the planned start date of the course
Cancellations of confirmed places are accepted up to 20 working days prior to the start of the
course. An administration fee of £30 plus the full cost of the study materials supplied will be
deducted and the remainder of the course fee refunded to the payee
All cancellation requests must be made in writing or by email.
Transfers of a confirmed booking either to another course or applicant can be made up to 20
working days before the course start date on payment of a £30 admin fee plus the cost of any
additional study materials which may be applicable. Alternative course must start within one
calendar year of the course originally booked and all transfers are subject to availability on
alternative course / examination dates
If a confirmed course booking is cancelled by the student during the 20 working days prior to
the start of the course, or at any time after the start of the course, no refund or transfer of the
course fees will be made, although we would appreciate notification if you know in advance that
you will be unable to attend
Where circumstances are beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to postpone and
reschedule all or part of any course or event and no refunds will be offered
We reserve the right to change the venue of any course or event to one of equal or superior
quality (and within the same vicinity)
We reserve the right to ask any person to leave any event if their behaviour is deemed
unacceptable or disruptive to others
Online courses are recorded on zoom to be used as educational resources as part of the course
Zoom videos or any of the WSET presentations or educational material is for students use only
and cannot be shared amongst friends or third parties
Any delegates with disabilities or learning difficulties must make this known in advance at the time of booking so there is time for any special requirements to be arranged

WSET Course Exams

Examination fees are included within the price of the applicable courses
Examination dates are fixed to the date of the course booked or set by mutual agreement for Distance Learning students. Once an exam place has been booked, it cannot be changed within 20 days of the examination.
Any transfer to an alternative examination date will incur an administration fee of £30 (this is included in the fee to change the date of the whole course, if applicable). All transfer requests are subject to availability and must be made in writing to the address shown on this website or by email to luisa@unicornandthevine.com at least 20 working days before the original examination date
Remote Invigilation Exams are non refundable from and up to 7 working days before the exam date
Students will need to bring photographic identification with them on the date of any examination, such as a driving licence or passport. Your first name and last name must match your photographic ID and must be the original documentation (photocopies or scanned images will not be accepted)
Students requiring special examination conditions must submit their request before starting the course. Such requests must be supported by a doctor’s certificate or similar document
Where a student fails to attend or does not meet the criteria to pass the examination, but still wishes to gain the qualification, they should contact Unicorn & The Vine (luisa@unicornandthevine.com) and we will recommend options, which may include attendance at a future course, or sitting the examination on another date.
In the event of a student re-sitting a WSET examination, the following examination fees will apply, depending on the course, as follows. In classroom Level 1: £52, Level 2: £62, Onlline L1 using remote invigilation £72.

Corporate & Private Events

For Corporate and Private events, a non-refundable deposit is payable to hold the date and the remaining balance must be paid before the event
Final numbers must be confirmed no later than one week before the event. Our invoice will be based on these numbers as a minimum and the cost of any additional guests attending will be detailed on a final invoice if applicable
Your booking is not secured until payment is received – all events must be paid for in advance.
Cancellations received more than 4 weeks prior to event date – you can choose to receive a full refund, send a substitute, transfer to another event, or receive a credit against any of our future events
Cancellations received between 4 to 2 weeks prior to event date – you can choose to send a substitute, transfer to another event, or receive a credit against any of our future events. No refunds will be provided.
Cancellations received between 2 weeks prior and up to the day of the event – you can choose to send a substitute. No refunds, credits or transfers will be provided.
In the event of 'no-shows' - no refunds, credits, or transfers will be provided.
On occasion due to unforeseen circumstances we may need to postpone or reschedule a course or event. If an alternative date or a credit is not acceptable we will refund payment in full.
Where circumstances are beyond our reasonable control, we reserve the right to postpone and reschedule all or part of any course or event and no refunds will be offered.
We reserve the right to change the venue of any course or event to one of equal or superior quality (and within the same vicinity).
We reserve the right to ask any person to leave any event if their behaviour is deemed unacceptable or disruptive to others.
We do not serve alcohol to guests under the age of 18.

Course / Event Registration

Course / event bookings are not complete until Course Registration has been completed by the student or person attending (delegate). As part of the registration process, delegates are confirming that they have read and understood all of the relevant booking conditions.
Individual delegates / the organiser for in-house or private events, should notify Unicorn & The Vine luisa@unicornandthevine.com if anyone who has registered is no longer intending to participate in the course / event for which they have registered.
The organiser of in-house / private events, is responsible for ensuring that all delegates complete registration prior to the (first) date of the event, and at least 15 days in advance where a course includes an examination.
Unicorn & The Vine may use photographs and videos of training courses and events for marketing purposes including on social media, on our website, on posters and in brochures. Images of delegates are an essential part of this marketing material. We assume that you have no objection to forming a part of such images by agreeing to our terms and conditions via this website and/ or the booking form
As part of completing the registration process, you agree that you would like us to contact you by email with details of this course or event. We will process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may unsubscribe from our emails at any time by clicking the link in the footer of any such email, or by emailing us luisa@unicornandthevine.com
