WSET LEVEL 3
AWARD IN WINES

Interactive classroom or online course 

This internationally recognised high level wine qualification can be run as a six day course or over 15 evenings depending on your requirements. I can run the course at your offices or premises or host live classes online. Minimum group booking of 8 people.

Fees include: 30 hours of interactive WSET tuition with Luisa, study books, 70 wine samples and WSET  examination (plus globally recognised WSET certificate)

Gain the internationally accredited WSET Level 3 Award in Wines, suited to wine enthusiasts or those in the hospitality industry, who wish to advance and deepen their wine knowledge; Ideal to help you make informed decisions or recommendations about wine for pleasure or work. This course is designed to give you a thorough understanding of the factors that account for the style, quality and price of the principal still, sparkling and fortified wines of the world.

You don't have to have completed WSET L2 to attend, although a similar level of knowledge is recommended. On successful completion of this exciting and structured course you will learn:

  • The key factors in the production of wine: location, grape growing, winemaking, maturation and bottling

  • How these key factors influence characteristics of the principal still, sparkling and fortified wines of the world

  • How to apply this knowledge to explain wine style, quality and price

  • How to taste wines and evaluate their style, quality and key characteristics using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine (SAT)

 

This qualification is broken down into:

  • 30 hours of delivery time 

  • 55 hours of personal study and revision

  • A three hour examination broken down into two units: Theory and Tasting

  • The theory exam is made up of a 50 question multiple choice paper and a four short written answer paper.

  • The tasting exam is  30 minutes where you will blind taste two still wines.
