'Caught in the act' at Wine At Home's organic, boutique wine tasting

What a wonderful evening it was! Thank you Wine At Home for such a magical tasting of your boutique, organic wines.

I have worked with Mary, Founder of Wine At Home since lockdown and have enjoyed every minute. I really believe in what her business stands for ~ supporting small family growers who farm sustainably.

The growers she carefully selects all produce minimal intervention wines that express a true representation of their terroir. The purity and minerality of the magnificent Sancerre is really something special and the juicy fruit forward Talento is another favourite, made from 100% thick skinned Monastrell grapes.

I love to work with passionate businesses like Wine At Home who champion local heroes. The perfectly balanced sweet Coteau du Layon from the Loire is made from hand picked Chenin Blanc botrytis affected grapes and only 6000 bottles are produced a year ~ the labour of love and care that goes into this bottle is evident the minute it hits your palate. Peaches 🍑 apricots, dried pear and honeysuckle aromas. Elegant yet complex… a dinner party stand out.

🍾 Another stand out for me is the small grower champagne Françoise Monay that is a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier; fine bubbles, apricot and toasted bread and biscuit aromas and a fresh, long finish.

A fantastic evening hosted by an inspirational female founder and friend ~ here’s to you Mary🥂
