It was my enthusiasm for wine and food that led to a career of over 18 years in the hospitality industry, during which I completed my wine qualifications with the globally accredited Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET). I didn't want the journey to end there, so went on to qualify as a WSET Certified Wine Educator and founded Unicorn & The Vine in 2018, teaching WSET wine qualifications as well as continuing with private and corporate wine tasting events.
Having worked in hotel management, operations management and corporate events, my experience covers training and inspiring teams, creating on trend wine lists, working with head chefs on wine and food pairings and running private wine tastings and dinners.
My WSET wine courses are for those who want to learn about wine for pleasure or make a career in the hospitality industry, welcoming complete beginners with L1. Wine is so much more than what's in the glass; it's about people, cultures, nature, travel... I wholeheartedly believe wine should be accessible and fun and I love to share my passion, empowering my students and clients to sip, serve, pair and simply enjoy wine with confidence!

WHAT IS WSET?
The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) are accredited wine qualifications that are globally recognised as the international standard in wine knowledge. They are designed for anyone who wants to learn about wine in a fun, concentrated, structured way or those considering a career in the wine industry. Unicorn & The Vine is an Approved Programme Provider of these WSET qualifications.

WSET LEVEL 1 AWARD IN WINES
ONLINE
For those new to wine, this qualification provides
a hands-on introduction to the world of wine. You’ll
explore the main types and styles through sight,
smell and taste, whilst gaining the basic skills to
describe wines accurately and make food and wine
pairings. Upon successful completion you will receive
the internationally recognised WSET certificate.
WSET LEVEL 2 AWARD IN WINES
ONLINE
This course is a beginner to intermediate level
covering the classic grape varieties, the regions in
which they are grown and the styles of wine they
produce, supported by tasting 40 wine samples from around the world. You'll learn how to use the WSET systematic approach to tasting to assess and describe wines with confidence.
VIRTUAL TASTINGS
Whether it's to connect friends, family, colleagues, clients or to celebrate a special occasion, enjoy these fun, interactive and educational tastings from the comfort of your home, hosted by Luisa.
Packages are per household, last approx 1.5hr and include delivery of three premium bottles of wine (artisan cheese pack can be added if desired!)
